Three Ads with Two Placements

Placements allow you to group ads so that they share the same targeting, schedule, etc. This allows you to configure a bunch of ads to behave the same way, which makes management easier. In this recipe, we are going to create two placements. One placement is going to target the home page. The second placement is going to target every page except the home page (all back pages). We are then going to create three ads. We are going to target one of them to the front page placement and the other two to the secondary page placement. When you pull it out of the oven, you will see one ad on the front page and the other two ads on all of the back pages of your site.

This article uses page targeting to demonstrate the power of placements. Check out the targeting recipes for more examples of how to use targeting.
